Description

Aquaculture is a form of farming that can stir up debate just as well as an farming practice on land.  On one hand, it can substitute for fishing practices that are destructive to the ocean environment, and on the other hand, aquaculture can wreak havoc on the body of water they sit in.  The fishing industry is currently running at an unsustainable pace of extraction.

Substituting this with aquaculture seems to be an answer, but due to the exorbitant amount of seafood consumed in the world, it will be some time before it will catch up.  Aquaculture has disadvantages such as waste, unnecessary antibiotic use, and escapees which can harm the healthy population via interbreeding and competing for food.
