Description

Voting can be the most influential thing you can do as a citizen.  Although there are numerous reasons to vote for a particular person (or run for office yourself!), finding a balance of views in a single politician is a feasible thing to do.  Putting together a Congress that is friendly to the environment, and thus the health of all citizens, has been a pipe dream for decades.  The closest we ay have come was in the early 1970's when the current protection laws were introduced; the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Protection Act and others at the national and state levels.

By voting consistently and consciously, we can rid our Congress of those who put special interest ahead of the public good.  Special interest groups, led by corporate donors, have had a grip on many representatives leading our country.  Until this connection is severed, we will forever have to put up with excessive subsidies, excessive tax breaks and looting of resources on public lands.
